Fine mate, 4 months old on the 1st, eating like a hoss and shitting like a heffalump he is probably around 24kg at the moment which is not bad considering he was 8kg when we picked him up at 8 weeks old. He also sleeps for NATO. However he has just started teething so was off his food this morning.
He is fantastic with other dogs and loves kids, quiet and very chilled. He has become quite the fixture at work, at tea and toast he just crashes under the table and goes to sleep, overall a quite mellow, funny little character who is going down a storm out here with the ladies and the Toms.
However training him is a different matter, he loses interest so, so quickly. A couple of retrieves is all you will get out of him, although he will sit and stay quite happily until I send him after the dummy. He is completely different from a Lab or Springer in my limited experience, with those breeds you have difficulty switching them off, with the Bracco it seems the trick is switching him on! I've tried all sorts of dummies, fur covered, furry toys even scents and still the same. I'm on the lookout for some pheasant wings as he goes mental over feathers so hopefully they will help. I've spoken to the breeders and other owners and its not unusual, some can be wired to the moon, some like Bob are just not fazed by anything.
Mind you, he has a pretty good nose on him, there are plenty of deer and hare around the MQ's on camp and if he gets a sniff of them he automatically goes into stalk and point mode and is like a completely different dog, so its all in there somewhere!
In summary, he is probably suited more for sitting on a lambretta, wearing a pair of shades, ears flapping gently in the wind and ogling the local talent over his Roman nose as per his eyetie heritage. I'll keep plugging away, dead game might be the key, at the very least he is going to make a pretty good PAT dog!

A little bit of a size difference in 8 weeks
