Hi there, South Perth suburbs here.

I've been here 20 years (on and off), but could someone please explain to me why aussies insist on ending words with an e or o? Sometimes I swear I live in a country that has English as it 2nd language !

Brisbane is lovely. I live in a nice leafy bayside suburb. Shitholes like Inala and Woodridge don't register on my radar 99% of the time. The Gold Coast however should be bombed back into the swamp it came from.

I hesitate to ask given this is arrse, but as a refugee from the shaky city (Christchurch,NZ) heading to Brisbane/Gold Coast where would one recommend to live bearing in mind that Mrs QS has been offered a job in Bundall and I expect to be working in Brisbane?

Given your working areas I'd say Shailer Park, or Ormeau on the southside. Or cleveland, Ormiston and Wellington point on the Bayside.

AVOID these areas. Woodridge/Logan Central, Kingston, Eagleby, parts of Beenleigh, Marsden, Browns Plains, the entire Ipswich area.
