    Re: NEXT CRAWL

Ok i dployed to the location this evening to perform a recce.

There's a big field with loads of stuff in it.

Beers is £2.80 per pint and it's hall and woodhouse specials i'm afraid. Hoffenbrau for the lager drinkers and badger and tanglefoot for the bitter drinkers. They also sell cans of the normal stuff but the real danger lies in the cider. There is a wide selection of the stuff available with my suggestion going towards Old Rosie at 7.3%. Now thats a big glass of fuck you up. The bars charge an extra 20p for the glass so if you dont bring your own then i'd keep hold of the same one all night.

The fun fair is one of the better ones i've seen including 2 roller coasters and a log Flume. There's plenty of spinny round rides to make me lose my lunch all over dale and plenty of stalls to make a pissed guy think he can win a teddy.

Entry is possible from camp through the back gate it costs 5 pound before 1800 and sweet fook all after (my favourite price) The bars shut at 2359 on saturday and the gate closes at 0200.

    Edited to add

There's also music and stuff on the timetable is Here. beer tents double up as music tents
One sunday as mother was repainting the house a a cunningly worded invitation to join WWII arrived.

"Just fancy" said mother "of all the people in the country they chose you"

Laughingly i felled her with a right cross.

Recce report format leaves a little to be desired, but all info is relevant ;)

For those whom I have not yet spoken to, recommendation is Daysack with your chosen beverage in plentiful supply! Hopefully the bungee event is running this year (don't stand too close to it, though. You WILL get covered in other peoples dinner :D)

Sign at our gate says 6 quid before 5 - hence the RV time being 1630 - by the time we get there, it'll be buckshee

Gosh Bull, that makes me look forward to it even more. Make sure you eat lots of dry toast before starting on the cider and spinny round rides, there's a good chap......

Oh no ... does this mean I might have to visit frère Whiffler (a happy Blandfrod Civvy) and the sprogs, merely on the pretext of getting rat@rsed.

Distance Merley to Steam Fair (in Taxi pounds) please.

Distance from Merley to Steam Fair is approximately 14 miles, so I guess about 15 taxi pounds, depending on how friendly you are to the driver!!!

PM for RV details if required

    Re: NEXT CRAWL

So might be cheaper to stay in accommodation nearer to Steam than with bro - he retains his 'keep a stocious Whiffler away from me and mine' Brownie points.

Will check further, but on the unlikely side - then again, it's only 2 days away .......
