Names Rob, 23 years old, used to be a self employed builder and plasterer.
I'm awaiting dates for my 2nd/3rd interviews while monging around in Scotland after a short back packing trip.. Hoping to join the Rifles, preferably 3, so i can smash it up in Edinburgh. I come from Cornwall (plenty of pasty shops but the night life is a bit shite) so Edinburgh to me is like a kid in a sweet shop.
I've been wanting to join for ages, so with a change of circumstances, and after growing a pair, i finally signed up.
cheers. On fames eternal camping ground their silent tents are spread,
And glory guards with solemn, round the bivouac of the dead.

Morning All,
Had many happy days in the CCF, ACF and UOTC in the 79's and 80's. Was on the brink of joining but didn't (long story). Always have massive respect for those that did. Joined the site as No1 son is now expressing an interest in wearing green and brown and my answers to his questions about what it's like stop at DPM, DMS boots and SLRs
Great work guys both serving and served.

Been lurking, 9 years Sigs, spent just over 3 at Sigs H (Blah to my fellow Airborne). Now a semi mad Civi with 2 companies in Germany. In Winter I ski on weekends, in Summer (when not working) ride around the Alps on my Honda, mud plugging in Landrover or take my business car, the v12 Ashley Fartin out for spin. Still in touch with the old boys from the Mob. We may get older, a few more wrinkles but the humour never leaves us, and the hangover also takes longer to depart our bodies..

Hey guys, I'm Rudolph (real name ;) ), left school few years back, got average grades (c/d in most subjects). I've always wanted to join the Army so I've came here to hear from people who have served already and from people who plan on serving. At the moment I work in ASDA and do the odd bit of voluntary work for the council (have meetings on community development e.g skate parks, playgrounds). I'm trying to get my fitness up as I'm underweight but I can run pretty well, just need to build stamina and strength.
Hope to be a member for a while, got great respect for the British Army, hope to be in there myself soon.

Hello, I have permission from BadCo to mention my business. During World War One many British Soldiers were given a little bear by their loved ones. These bears had eyes that were high up on their heads which peeped out of the soldiers' top pockets. I have been making my version of these mohair bears recently (I make bears for a living) and if anyone would like one I will give £5 for each one I sell to donate to this site. Not sure if I can mention my website here but it should be in my profile.

wotcha all, i got directed to the arrse when i applied to join the army and googled pretty much every question that came into my head. as well laughin me tail off at some of the threads theres been some good advice about fitness an the general lifestyle etc. as far as i go ive always been interested in the forces my grandad did national service in the far east his son still lives in germany after his service and my uncle on the other side of the family tree did a tour in northern ireland. i do know my history (but i'm not a smart arse about any of it) and im always interested in hearing accounts from servicemen/women. most of the questions i've got are about fitness stuff and basic pointers on army life (i'll take the gospel and the guff) lastly im crap with computers so if none of this stuff ends up where its suppose to then cobblers i'll go back to writing letters. safe travels all
