I often found myself approaching a Crab in combats, spotted the rank slides on his shoulder & immediately started to salute, only to find that it was a bloody Sgt.

Those silly, straight bars that their Rodneys have are not a great aid to rank recognition.

    My bold
No need my friend it's cold so adopt cold weather compliments (RAF) routine
    Keep hand in pockets
    Stare stright at approaching officer
Give a nod of the head
    Say 'Aw right mate'
    Walk slovenly onwards
Although if above the rank of Air Commadore it is advisable to acommpany said nod of head with a knowing wink
Wouldn't want to get you in trouble now would we

just heard the new RAF regiment radio ad
goes on about how deadly the typhoon is in the air etc etc.
then goes on the ground its only defense is the raf regiment :D
workmates looked at me more strangely than usual when I howled with laughter
On a Hot morning in cyprus I found the meaning of anger. Fortunataly I was comftably numb.
The RSM and various other NCO's seemed very agitated.
maybe they should look into counselling?

Heard it on the car radio this afternoon (car's alright I was stopped at the lights). It must be the spearhead of a big recruiting campaign now that they've lost so many to special forces
Please do not be waking me up in the centre of the night.

Are all you chaps just jealous of the status of the RAF Regt that has been widely publiscised recently?
Are you in a shite county regiment perchance?
Or are you a civilian Walt?
Go on, admit it... Driver? Pot washer?
Something has to explain this stupid, vacuous, pointless onslaught.

The RAF Regiment are a well trained, specialised infantry unit. You might well go on about them "Walting" around Basra in their WMIKs etc, but at the end of the day they are a good fighting unit, and their job is to defend airfields. That's exactly what they do.
I don't see too many County Regts "Walting" (i.e. defending) Basra Air Station.

(And no I'm not RAF Regt before you ask!)

Unfortunately not bud. And yes I'm on the run from e-goat at the moment. I have to find something to do with all this downtime!
