Discuss RAF Regiment... give me strength... at the The ARRSE Hole forum within the The Army Rumour Service website; Never really understood people who joined RAF Regt ..... was the Army full?...
E goat have seen this thread and are having a disscussion on it such as:
I would just like to add my comments to the above mentioned about the BA's view on the Regt.
In my experience of pongoes (I was a soldier in the TA), on the whole Jo Pongo is fairly dim (if not very). Rocks tend to be a much better trained mob who can think independently of one another in much the same way as all airmen trades can. This is a valuable asset for any comd in any situation, be it operational or not.
As for possible mergers/reductions - not even worth discussing. The Regt has proved itself over and over again in recent years/ops and given their specialised role, should be safe. A WO in the RM recently said to me that Regt training is second only to the RM - which to be fair is quite a compliment![b][b]
Second only to RM
So his is first only to RM?
Is this part of the big 3
I did a foot patrol in Iraqistan can I have claimed to work with Cav - sas?
bwhahahaaaaahaahhahaahaahhahaahah
the raf regiment look good as they measure themselves against the rest of the RAF. who are not exactly steely eyed dealers of death or expected to be so of course the rocks get an inflated sense of there ablitys :D
if they were that good why arn't they used more often
i forgot they parachuted into serria leone or brave flying apes not
On a Hot morning in cyprus I found the meaning of anger. Fortunataly I was comftably numb.
The RSM and various other NCO's seemed very agitated.
maybe they should look into counselling?
Mr Syrup. The RM WO must have been p1ssed as a fart. They are sh1te. I have lost count of the amount of times they'd get out on the ground less than 5 mile from their own gates. screw something up and then call out us 20 miles away to make it better.
I've heard that they are "The BIG 4 " SAS,RAF REG,PARAS,RM,in that order ! They probably do have good blokes,i don't dispute that, but what i do reckon,is that the Big Timing Kit Monster Choppers are in the majority ! Oh and as for II Para, sorry Squadron, those guy's are real bad ass's,i hear they can do thing's that make a billy goat puke !!! :D
Have not had such a good laugh whilst reading that article in ages - even met the young platoon, sorry flight, commander on the FIBUA course at Warminster. Talk about all the gear and no idea! Bless his cotton socks - he was keen as mustard.
to be unfair its not really there fault they spend most of there time hanging around with the crabs who are not exactly a military force and care less about
warry stuff.
so the rocks get an inflated sense of there capabilitys and nobody tells them the truth

Just got off a civi 747 charter from Canada to UK. 15 nice first class seats, and guess what. RAF Regt Cpls, LCpls and Propellors sitting in them. Meanwhile RSM and others put in the cheap seats. The only reason it passed was everyone was so knackered after the movments F@~k about that no one noticed until everyone was seated!

L/Cpl is not an RAF rank, so either your tale is made up, your observational skills are sh!te or you didn't see what you thought you saw.
The people you saw may have been aeromed staff and patients; they are invariably allocated seats at the front of the a/c. It often generates whining from some other passengers.
The reality is that RSM on an aircraft = unimportant self-loading cargo. :D :D
