Re: RAF Regiment... give me strength...
I have been out so long that I was surprised when someone told me that the bow and arrow had been replaced! However is this standard paractice now for landrovers in operation areas?
my boldThe patrol drove off into the dust-smudged twilight, firing flares to deter drivers who got too close.
Sounds like a C130 coming in to land or take off."Patience is counting down without blasting off."

Re: RAF Regiment... give me strength...
RAF regiment members think they are one of the big three or so they call it of the Paras and Royal Marines which is what I find funny.

Re: RAF Regiment... give me strength...
Lets face it. They are dog poo and i would much rather have an Arty/Tanky/Pioneer unit supporting me if there was an inf shortage. But its about time they justified their existance. Admitadly there will now be more RAF regt war stories than there are tours but every man jack counts in the stan at the mo.

They really are going to lord it around now they've actually done something other than drive round the APOD. On a seperate note anyone been down to Keogh barracks lately and seen them larging around there tossers,

Re: RAF Regiment... give me strength...
I think most people would rather have the RLC supporting them instead of RAF Regiment.

No but its scary when you see them at Brize with super dooper go faster boots. £350 worth of cop vest and shades. Whats even scarier is the dirty fat hoebags (Service women<expecting incoming) actually go for it. Last time i went through there i got asked if i was a remf because i'd polished my boots and put on clean kit to travel home. It was only then i noticed how overly warry the "Rock apes" looked. Evident dusting of boots and ripping of kit. Fags!

Re: RAF Regiment... give me strength...
Had two of their Officers fly out to Kabul with us. One had the shades on in Lyneham and kept them on in the plane. Very Top Gun I thought. Even tha fat RAF loadie who dished out the scab packs thought that they were a pair of c*nts and he was the fattest serviceman I'd ever seen. Ever.

If you want to get a good rise out of Royal Marines:
"Ah yes, Marines; you're sort of the RAF Regiment of the sea, aren't you..."
then retire.I aint flying in no plane....FOOL

Tale from the past, 1982, rockape Rapier sqn had finally arrived and was deploying around Stanley airfd. Sqn admin offr fronts up to BC of Rapier bty that had been on the ground throughout and asked for some gunners to dig weapon pits for the sqn. No prizes for guessing the gist of the answer.
