Re: RAF Regiment... give me strength...

Are these the same guys that remind me of the Peter Kaye sketch "its spitting" never have i seen any one don a gary Goretex as fast as a regiment guy.

They did a demo once on their unarmed combat, they demonstrated on a chav pulled out of the audience. Said chav just kneed the cnut in the nutz and he dropped like a sack of spuds. I nearly wet myself laughing.

    Hang on its spitting !!!

A lot of us have done courses and walked the walk but can you do the job that our infantry boys do, never seen RAF Regiment guy walk up to me in a ambush and take the piss, then do an amazing section attack on the ambush party, then come back cool as you like and take the piss some more then walk of like they have being doing it all there life. This kid was about eighteen and already a full screw some RAF reg take nearly all there career to make any rank what so ever. I attended a parade hosted by there SM whom came up to me and asked if it was awfully nice for me to take of my medals, reason as he and his men had none and i was showing him up.

Come on RC - don't take that from Bad Crow.

Give him both barrels of your ascorbic wit, wither him in a hail of witticisms, and ream him with your iron rod of irony.

Or feck of back to E-Goat and big time it there.

LostBoss, its not a case of being better than anyone else I just think that there is a lot of misplaced anger towards the RAF Regt. As with any unit/Regt there is your fair share of complete knobbers, and you would probably hit me with that stick, but to completely dismiss the whole of the Corps is a bit small minded. We have our good and bad points, as does everyone.

I hope you have been taking everything said here with a pinch of salt as I have been baiting you a bit to try to see how low you will go.

To tell you the truth I couldn't really give a fcuk what you or anyone else on here thinks. Such is life eh.

    See you again soon guys.

By the way every afternoon is a sports afternoon these days. Thats what I do for a living now. I left the Corps 5 years ago.

I will check back soon to see if you have come up with any new insights into my 'BELOVED CORPS'

Re: RAF Regiment... give me strength...

Don't have a problem with the RAF Regiment per se. I don't want to guard airfields and have never wanted to. If they need to look like the LRDG and do loads of LRRPS courses to feel better about their role - that's fine by me - because I don't want to see infantry soldiers guarding airbases.

They may be dressed, trained and equipped in similar fashion to light role infantry but that does not make them infantry, as their role is different.

I would be genuinely interested to hear how many VCs have been won by the RAF Regiment throughout its history and how many enemy airfields it has captured. I am open to be persuaded otherwise, but defending fixed installations just doesn't sound very exciting to me.
