According to LBC they were running out of court today shouting "We need more soldiers down there" into their iPhones.

I'll try to ignore their use of the word "soldier," but does this mean that having gone through the due process of the law of the land they are now intending to bring in rent-a-twat with the sole intention of causing a confrontation, then it will be big-bad-plod's fault when people get hurt. Especially when the big brave boys put all the young girlies at the front so they can look good on the (highly selectively edited) Guardian dodgy mobile phone footage.

The reason they get to look good in video is that the Met are too stupid to beat them at their own game. Wire each copper up for sound and video then release that. Of course, you then have to stop coppers from clubbing random newspaper sellers but the Met keep assuring us that that's the idea anyway.

Technology has got to the point that crusties will be fully wired and using the footage for their own purposes. Just wait for the Olympics.

True, the OB are way behind. Body-cams and head-cams have been trialled for years, but no-one seems to realise that quality real-time footage is actually a copper's friend.
