Re: An Open Letter to LCpl Joe Glenton
Wedge 35, I think many here would agree with those sentiments.
Could I also say, that if you really were a sapper in the RE then you were clearly wasted. There's many a Rupert that couldn't put together a letter with that quality of erudition and depth of argument.

Re: An Open Letter to LCpl Joe Glenton

2 questions though
Why is he still a JNCO????
why is he not in detention now?
Joe Glenton you are a discrace!
In the future when you look back on this sad period of your life just remember ,In the Army years ago you would have been shot for your cowardly actions !

Wedge - would have expected no less from one of God's own. Great letter and if you ever collect additional signatories, let us all know. Brilliantly put.
(and such is my anti-wah radar so finely tuned where your posts are concerned wedge, that I read it twice over)! Cheesey Beans in The Jackson Club being at the root of all my problems!
Good drills - hope the news editors are searching on Nuremburg and Blair or similar soon. Who knows typing Nuremburg and Blair or International War Crimes Tribunals into Google might bring one of the more lazy journalists here!
Not in my name either.

Re: An Open Letter to LCpl Joe Glenton
What an absolutely excellent letter.
Clear, polite, friendly in tone, well and accurately argued. Also, just plain right.
All the best,
John.

Thanks mate, although I must say that while I might be able to put together a half-decent letter, I have the leadership skills of a small rodent and no self-discipline either.

Re: An Open Letter to LCpl Joe Glenton
greatly worded letter wedge35,
Why didn't LCpl (soon to be Mr) Glenton's unit not simply place him on a regimental duty this weekend, that would have prevented him from attending the protest march whilst not breaching any military, civil or civil rights .
If all the three services were to adopt this guys attitude to service then the country would be in more trouble than it is already.
good post wedge35

Very interesting one this,------ At the end of the day will he be a hero? after all he has got the balls to go through with this and has a few thousand suporters behind him to boot!!
On the other hand,----- Is this man a disgrace to the British Army? --- Most on this site seem to think so.
I understand that Joe is going to stand tall in front of the old man next month, he will almost certanly get a dishonrable discharge from the British army, but i belive he will not be sent to pokey, this is because he has too many Civi suporters behind him that can, and will cause a riot over this matter.
The last thing Gordon wants is riots on the streets over this matter as it would embariss him. So enter M.I.5, to pay the man off to keep his mouth shut, and disapear!
Joe knows that he is on to a winner which ever way it go for him.
He proberbly worked it all out in stan!!

Why should that preclude you from "leadership"

He went AWOL because he's a twat, nothing to do with illegal invasions that just an excuse to justify his actions.
