I would use the Engagement Expiry Date that is shown on JPA. This is found under Self Service - View Termination Data

yeh i looked on JPA today and although i signed for Veng, both my original 22 year engagement date and my new Veng engagement date show as active. is this a clause that could be used against me for them to lower my SCP or is it a case of wait out to see what the new DIN says when published early April?

I also have two Active engagements (only one week difference between them so not too worried!) altohugh the 1st one also has expiry date that has passed??

I am certianly not an authority but if your engagement has changed and a new date entered (as with V-Eng) then I would assume that the latter date is the one that would be used as that is now what you are signed up for; but I wait to be corrected.

Cheers for that Cursedveggie. There appears to be a lack of info out there at the moment as far as Veng personel are concerned, which is surprising, as for me it is the difference between a £3500 SCP using my 22 year contract date or £22000 SCP using my 24 year Veng date. Rather a lot of money !!!!

It's not rocket science ffs.

If you have been accepted for VENG then your end of contract is the day your VENG runs out, as you would have to Terminate your service to leave the services prior to that date.

Stupid stupid question, I applied for Veng, it says on JPA it has been accepted, how many years is it for? Then I can work out my terminal date,

Struggling with the decision to do it or not. I am getting old and beat up, fed up with system and patriarchal system in Bde HQ. Now will my wife forgive me if I went redundant. I have a a lot of transferable skills. I cannot get a mortgage for 2 years so will have to rent. The pension will pay for that. Do I really want to do another tour in a country that I care little about. Thing is I will have to leave some time, however the moneys pretty good for what I do.

There are bugger all jobs out there,

If I went it would have to be a clean break. So plan is to covertly start my resettlement now. I had planned to do it in few years time.

I have done the seven steps sulk looking at JPA far too often in the last couple of months,

only a stupid question if you know the answer.............as you have probs read i asked as i have two active dates on JPA but just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on it in lieu of the forthcoming DIN on 4th April............i thought thats what these forums were for.............to pick peoples brains for their thoughts, experiences or ideas.......but hey thanks for your answer armadillo...........i think...................lol

JPA is not giving a clear indication wether I have Veng or not, crazy even my Clerk cant answer that question. I too have two dates,
