When I transferred I was amazed at how cut throat it gets once the screws are looking at being on a grading board, some of the lads/lasses are genuinely good blokes who know how the real world works and act like a grown up when it comes to dealing with squaddies of all rank. Others will climb over broken glass to make a name for themselves and fuck people over either in the wider Army or in their own mess.

The last time I saw an old school mate, who'd left to join RMP, I bumped into him by complete happenchance in Ballykinler. He had his third up as a WIS.
