They were looking at opening it to all-arms; this got canned. And you don't need to be PARA fit at all. A good base of fitness is required, but it is nowhere near P-Coy standards.

Open to any capbadge? Geez. The days of the combined BG/CP drivers course have clearly gone.........
The stopped clock of The Belfast Telegraph seems to indicate the
    time
Of the explosion - or was that last week's? Difficult to keep
    track:
Everything's a bit askew, like the twisted pickets of the
    security gate, the wreaths,
That approximate the spot where I'm told the night patrol
    went through.

Yep the PMS course I did had a few loggies some guardsmen a couple of gunners and a bloke from yorkshire regt we were told in no uncertain terms that we were not BG's and not to try it on with the PMC's that we had done the RMP CP course
having said that it was the best course I have ever done and I would do it again

My initial question was regarding the fitness standards needed. The answer was that so long as your fitness level is up to a decent standard then you should pass the course. So no need to be para fit. However i'm training at the moment getting my fitness up with the aim of around p coy fitness just to make the RMP CP that much easier to pass.
