If it is proven to work then I don't see what the problem is, any soldier who is taking anti-depressants as a treatment for depressants then they'll most likely be non-deployable and won't be allowed to handle weapons and maybe even barred from driving military vehicles so I can't see someone taking MDMA posing to much of a risk to their oppos.

Before the first war - originally designed as an anti-psycho but available as a diet pill (as already posted). Apparently the huns did use it in the trenches to keep the lads happy amongst all the shit, lice, rats and bodies, but for some reason they pulled the plug - I would imagine that there were some fairly extreme comedowns.
