as a vehicle a parachute is dumb unarmoured and is prone to failure, whereas the other methods of troop delivery are more advanced.
why does hanging from a nylon sheet make you special?
effin paras pr campaign, look at me look at me i am a airbourne warrior ooh look how hard we are,
Like has already been said, I doubt the powers that be would of risked the lives and assets involved in the operation just to tick the PR box. Para Reg hardly need the PR and they really didn't need to prove a point that didn't need proving anyway. In short mucker, you sound like the typical boring anti Airborne chest pounder by suggesting otherwise and you would probably be better off attempting to lick your elbow than comment on Para Reg matters.
still doesnt justify this bunch of infantry claiming elite status falling from the sky, most paras that i have had to work with are a bunch of egotistical knobs,
Claiming Elite status? Is there some sort of official claim form they need to fill in on JPA?
Whats with the poor attitiude towards the Airborne anyway sweetcheeks? When you worked with these "egotistical knobs" from Para Reg did they poo tash you in your sleep? you were on the wrong end of a three man lift perhaps? or maybe the rascals just curled one out into your beret and giggled "crap hat" whenever you were nearby?

You will never know the answer to that one!
I've met plenty of whinging whining wankers, who actually think that they're good soldiers. When in fact, they're fat useless, unfit gobshites. The sort of bloke I wouldn't put on 'sinks & mirrors', because he'd have fucked it up.

Did some para reg bloke kick your other halves back door in or something, or are you one of those who used to be in the paras until you failed intro ex 1 ?
I imagine they looked upon you as a biff. Unable to pass BFTs, moaning incessantly, always in trouble, money grabbing JPA ninja. In short, they probably thought you were an unprofessional soldier.

Why would knowing your way around JPA and getting the money that is owed to you a mark of an unprofessional soldier?

Fair one mate- sorry, but I'm coming from the TA perspective, where fucking useless seniors spend their time hogging the JPA terminals on a training night, instead of working on their phys, on training schedules or other more important tasks.
It is of course completely understandable that the regs should be all over their expenses.
