Discuss Why Army Cadet "Force"? in ACF on The Army Rumour Service; I think that technically it ought to be called a Corps rather than a Force but I certainly wouldn't wish money to be wasted changing the name. I don't think it would make one jot ...

When it comes down to it, it is called what it is called. Why fix it if it ain't broken. if you look at many organisations in the past, names don't always reflect roles. Not only that, corps can be fighting units. EG Machine gun corps and Tank corps from the first world war, and AAC in the present day.

Surely it should be Joint Cadet Corps not 'Combined'. 'Joint' being more than one service. 'Combined' meaning more than one country. Then again why not just leave it as it is.

I remember this same discussion on Armycadetforce.com.

This is what I said there (this was 2 years ago by the way):

While were on this ACF should be a force as (this is along the same lines) The other forces RAF, RN, they have the title Royal, The army regiments have to EARN them. SCC ATC are the same just like their Adult counterparts, henceforth the ACF should be different like its regular counterparts. The ACF is not A FORCE to be reconned with.

Do you think RFCA is a democracy?

Have a little think of the cost to do a name change. What of the charity status, what of the charter, affiliations act of parliament etc, suspect they will have to be rewritten and approved by the various bodies all which could reject it and 'we' end up with a watered down version or worst nothing.

Be a good chap and don't tinker above your knowledge...
    Errrm...

    1. Wind your f*****g neck in sunshine and don't make bone assumptions about what I do or don't know;

    2. Whether RFCA is a democracy or not this is the Army RumouR SErvce and all about discussion irrespective of audience or outcome.

    3. It's my forum to moderate so I'll tinker about as much as I like.

LOL, I'm sure that's a standard reply when you haven't got one...

    2. Whether RFCA is a democracy or not this is the Army RumouR SErvce and all about discussion irrespective of audience or outcome.

indeed, you vote, assumes that both ACF and CCF will have to change their name irrespective of which wins the ballot, but then as you pointed out it just for a laugh no real meaning or did i miss something?

    3. It's my forum to moderate so I'll tinker about as much as I like.
Feel free, but also take the flack if you do stupid things, take it like a good chap...I would love the opportunity to vote annually on the usefulness of the mods or to vote a particular mods off if they are crap, care to set one up?

And if you were any good at being a MOD or even cared you would be on top of any pathetic post or replies that suggest that ACF adults are anything other than honest caring volunteers, like the good chap you purpose to be...

Dwills stop bleating. It makes you sound like a grown man with a fondness for young, firm, male buttocks enclosed in too large CS95 and surrounded by a mish-mash of webbing accoutrements.

At the end of the day Woops is the MOD and you're a grown man with a fondness for ......etc, etc.....
