Quite true. Counties are always looking for adults.

Re: ACF Adult Instructor Recruitment Thread
Evening all!
I am thinking about joining joining as a AI but want to speak to them face to face before I start the ball rolling.
I have a TAC where a ACF unit parades about 300 yards from my house, and would it be ok to just rock up and speak to some one before I started the paper nightmare!!
Many thanks in advance

Re: ACF Adult Instructor Recruitment Thread
in short, yes. just go in and tell them so.
however you may also wish to visit the army cadet website http://www.armycadets.com and get yourself sent a pack about joining as an adult... there's also some FAQs and stuff on there.
my friend is going to ask you some questions. personally, I hope you don't answer them because I want you to die in here and end up inside a pork pie!

Re: ACF Adult Instructor Recruitment Thread
Howdo all. Sorry if this has been answered already..
Can you become an adult instructor if you are currently serving. I'm in Birmingham doing my nurse training and not likely to be going anwhere for a couple of years at least and thought this might be something I could put some time into and add an extra string to my bow in the mean time.
If it's possible I'd like to look at the harboune unit, so if anyone knows anything about it let me know.
Cheers

Re: ACF Adult Instructor Recruitment Thread
Apologies if this question has been asked previously (I couldn't find anything though).
I'm thinking of becoming an AI (I've just today requested the info pack from the ACF website).
Having read all the previous posts on becoming an AI, I now know it's something I'd really like to do.
Anyway, enough of the rambling.
My question is, would it be better to become an AI in an area I don't live in?
There are 10 ACF det's in the city where I live.
My wife, who is a teacher, has said before that she wouldn't want to live in the catchement area of the school she works in. As you always run the risk of seeing the kids you teach when you are out and about. Which obviously means you always have to be careful of your behaviour.
Now I ask the question, not because I don't want to watch my behaviour (I'm as well mannered & behaved as the next person), but as an off & on smoker (constantly trying to give up & constantly failing), I wouldn't want any cadets I instruct seeing me smoke.
Am I being paranoid or would it be easier to instruct in the area I live in?
