Re: ACF Adult Instructor Recruitment Thread
Hello all,
I have recently applied to join the ACF as an AI. I have been through the first interview with the DC, I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas as to what will be asked at the "big" interview. It looks like this will be sometime at the beginning of December. Any tips greatfully recieved.
Thank you
TD

How much time you can spare ? (its still all voluntary)
Its not too ovewrwhelming, most interviews are usually straightforward, your county I believe are usually ok, I do know a couple of people who were involved in the ACF in your area.
of course there is your Medical, it very straight forward, If you're breathing and not about to drop dead, you're in, if they will let me in,I don't see a problem with you !
there is security clearances should be ok for you , given your current job, and CRB checks is more about if you had a criminal and undesirable traits, which im sure you have nothing to worry about.
any further question you can PM me, see you soon"Remember that you are an Englishman, and have consequently won first prize in the lottery of life" Cecil Rhodes

Hi all I have just got the ok, it took nearly 5 months. I am ex reg and I had no problems.
Just re apply and ask why you got turned down, was it the CRB or the army check.
Best of luck

Dont forget, there's the other cadet forces. I'm in the Marine cadets (part of the Sea Cadets} we take most of our training from the ACF manual. We're always on the lookout out for new staff members.

Re: ACF Adult Instructor Recruitment Thread
Hi,
I am in the process of leaving the TA and have approached my local ACF about becoming an instructor.
I have filled in all the forms, and am already SC'd (only re-did last year) and CRB'd twice already (I help with a Scout troop occasionally and my wife runs a brownie group) so those should not take that long to come through.
I am keen to get involved, as I cannot see myself not being green in any form, having been at an army school, then TA and from an army family.
I feel I can offer them a lot in terms of both Ex and OP experiences, having served on Op Telic and having been part of my TA unit's recruiting team.
I was told I would be contacted by the Company OC to arrange a local interview, but have not yet heard anything.
How long should I wait before calling up and asking if there is an issue, or whether they have lost my contact details.Make yourself an honest man, and then you may be sure there is one less rascal in the world.

Re: ACF Adult Instructor Recruitment Thread
well, i did 9 years reg, 3 years t/a then i joined my countys acf, as an AI , and i,ve gotta admit, i loved it!
that was a few years ago, but this thread has reminded me off an event in my local, only 3 weeks ago,
i was at the bar (in the chair again) !
when the landlord bought a pint of London pride through, and said
" with the compliments of the young man in the back bar"
i nodded, and he came through, and said,
"thought i had better buy you a pint sergeant, how are you keeping?"
after a 10 min chat, i worked out that this young man, was , in his younger years, probably one of the biggest nightmares known to my local police force,
it appears that 3 years ACF , and then he joined the TA seems to have put him on the right road to life .
personally, i feeel a small piece of pride, knowing that perhaps i have made a difference, to at least 1 young mans life.

Works for me when said little (ex)scrote seeks one out (no easy task for him) to be godfather to his first born. Truly brings tears to the eye.
