The usual requiremet for a cadet to be promoted to cadet lance corporal is to have passed one star.

The only reason I ever had to think to short-cut that requirement was if there was a detachment of largely newish cadets, without cadets further through training.

What seems likely to me is that most DC's who chose that option whould make it a temporary rank to see how a cadet managed the role.

To get bust from lancejack in the Army, you need to be charged, and go on Orders. In other words, there's a formal procedure to be followed. Same for promotion, there's a procedure. Is it not the same in cadets? I would expect so, although obviously nothing like as "serious" as the Army. If so, and the procedure was followed, then there's no problem. If the procedure wasn't, then the cdt has a legitimate beef. If there's no procedure, perhaps there ought to be.

An alternative view might be that if a cdt NCO warrants being bust, then perhaps he should be invited to leave, as he's clearly not following the rules. Last thing you want is a cadet not following the rules with a gat in his mitt, or a thunderflash.

Cadets dont use thunderflashes/pyrotechnics. They are classed the same as fireworks. Cadets/instructors are still civilians so they have no exception to the laws like junior soldiers have.
