I don't know why I've just read this.
A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack full of French porn.

I don't doubt it Ravers!
The general perception, and inmdeed the average for cadets units is largely of little kids.
I have though come across units with a fair spread of age, and groups of senior cadets at the age 17/18 mark, and certainly one where they were at a fitness and skill level to take on Alpine work.
Unfortunately to do it, they found the risk assessment processes and admin to do so through the system was so onerous, they set up their own not for profit group to be able to get out onto the hills for this, and an odd Killimanjaro for H4H along the way.
They would probably have been placed, were they stupid enough, to seriously have looked to look at our original OP's project, but I suspect would have valued interest in a project well over risking 40Kg joint battering on roads!...For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.

Cadets on Nijnmegan - a fuckin' menace.
After about 2000g of ibuprofen and a good many beers, I was convinced I was about to trap off with a pretty WRAF girl in the beer tent - until I discovered she was an ATC cadet!
Still, she said she always wanted her wings...I'm Chuck Norris, and I approve these detainee handling techniques...

I asked my cadets what they thought about walking 35 miles.
The chief scrote answered "Anyone who doesn't know how to hotwire a car deserves to walk"
Good to see the kids of the ACF have the life skills they will need when they leave school. We have got plenty of youth, what we really need is a fountain of smart.
