As a serving soldier you can not me cadet instructor.
I presume you mean cannot BE an AI/ACF Offr?
Well my DC is a serving officer and I know of others who are TA soldiers and AI's. They are not just helping out. If the rules have changed or are changing we will lose some good people.
I have to confess I have no idea about whether they get paid, but who does this for the money? £50-£60 quid a day? I charge more than double that per hour as a civilian and frankly I spend more than that on kit for the detachment anyway.
Which reminds me, does anyone know where I can get a data projector cheap cheap cheap? Or even a freebie?
Any kit you need should be issued on the weekends, so basically take whatever knickers, socks. etc you'd normally need for a weekend.
Of course you could always call the CEO or AO, or whoever told you about the weekends, and ask them.
Thanks, thats put my mind at rest a little.
The clerk doesn't seem to be that competent- that was made clear, by the interviewers, at my interview...
I dont really want to keep ringing, might mark my card as being awkward.
I must ever so humbly correct myself (& apologies to Semper).
It is possible to serve in both organisations, the joining process would be identical to that required of anyone joining the ACF as an instructor with the addition of written permission from the individual's CO.
You can still assist as a TA soldier without fully joining the ACF. You just need a letter from your OC, and a CRB check. It is possible for regular soldiers to assist, I know of one ACF unit based in a major garrison which has regular serving personnel assisting.
Are bugle majors in cadets a red on or green on? I've been pestering the gaffer for some time now to get me on a bugle course but as i'm expected to start my basic in January, is there a point in trying for a bugle course now?
