When you say sorry to the Army, and those nice people at SASC in particular.
So, in other words, Never. This is also a golden opportunity for the silly old mahogany bomber pilots that have hijacked the ACO to kick ACP16 and 'all that pongo shooting and fieldcraft rubbish' into the long grass and forget about it. I understand an order has already gone out telling the ACO that they are forbidden to wear MTP/PCS already.Last edited by walt_of_the_walts; 09-12-2011 at 01:12.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

MTP/PCS Waterproofs are to be issued on a 50% scale to the ACF. As for webbing, it's the Highlander CTV presently, which is still DPM. Whether we will eventually get an MTP version is unknown at present. Multicam may be possible but British MTP unlikely unless the the manufacturer is licensed. The Highlander CTV is made from Chinese 1000 Denier DPM nylon, but is finished in the UK by Highlander to a good standard of workmanship. ie; much better than Webtex or viper

That maybe the DS answer. But probably not the truth or intended meaning. Who knows what the truth is in your byzantine and scheming CofC? Babs and many of her cronies don't like shooting or anything green and have let that view slip on a number of occasions. The only uniforms they are interested in are blue and the only activities they are to be worn in are aviation related or bag packing.

Maybe the ConDems are planning to bolster our shrinking forces with cadets? ; )

Bigger question is why worry?
Surely the best solution is keep turning up in whatever you've been issued, until the day that you arrive in your office and there is great big box of MTP kit to be dished out, and then start wearing that. It really doesn't matter. It's clothing, it keeps you warm and looking smart, whether it's DPM or MTP, in a drill hall environment, is really quite irrelevant.
Based on how quickly QMs get hold of kit at the moment (IE the new style smocks were on issue as soon as anyone else got them), my expectation would be that when the stocks of DPM run out, the QMs will be putting in for 10 smocks and they will turn up in MTP, and there will probably be a transitional phase where people are in mixed dress and also the unit is mixed overall. But this is the nature of the game.
No doubt as soon as the first stocks are in, every AI in the country will have to crawl through some barbed wire and all their kit will be ruined and need replacing.Last edited by dinosaur_poo; 20-12-2011 at 21:13.
