An outsider reading this lot would quickly gather that the "organisation" - I use the term loosely - is badly regulated, has some shocking internal communication problems and very poor selection procedures when taking on "adult" - again I use the term loosely - volunteers.

My answer was in relation to AIs, so I'll go back and re-read the original post and see if an answer regarding CTTs was needed, as my interpretation was that it questioned the integrity of CFAVs and not regular soldiers who have done the Army SAA Instructor courses.

As for an SSI (of which, I'm assuming you mean a Staff Sergeant Instructor), then to be promoted to that rank they should have attended the Frimley Course as a prerequisite.

My idea of 'constructive' is clearly different to yours. I'm not after a fight, I like to discuss issues as opposed to ripping the sh1t out of each other.

This thread alone can hardly be conculsive.

For a start none of the posters have established their credentials, and might not be bona-fide CFAVs. They are just random ARRSE members, hence the half-baked opinions.

Let's face it, on just about every subject that crops up throughout the forum - there is some utter crap posted and quibbled over. Granted there are also some accurate posts too, but often answers are annecdotal and other people's experiences may vary.

Question 2. 1991-97, in my CCF, any cadet who had passed JCIC then SCIC taught by 2CTT out of Lynford Home farm, taught anything on the syllabus including SAA. The WHTs were taken by Q'd adults - either the Offrs or CTT SNCOs. Don't now how it works now.

Question 1. A minimum of how many periods the manual states until WHT, then on top of that sufficient that they can pass.

As to the rest of the surreal stuff in this thread, you're never alone with schizophrenia.

Cadets can not fire the weapons unless they are in-date with their WHT, also includes not being able to use a DCCT.

WHT are conducted as per the book by SAA qualified instructors and if a cadet fails, they simply will not fire.
