I'd quite like to see a brown leather boot, but who knows what they'll come up with eh!

MaasaiMoran - it will be black in UK, suede for desert for now. The question of moving to one boot colour/design is one to handle in due course I suspect. Still tickled by the thought of a boot in MTP!

If you goole AKU Bosco Boots, they are about $89 and NOT £140!

I know you've already had the proper word off GS, but the bloke in the last phot with Ainsworth is wearing what looks to be desert boots. I know the Americans do that too, even in woodland/wet climates - all tan suede.
That said I think there'd be a lot to be said for us sticking with leather boots for temperate areas, more waterproof, lots of support, more choice from other bootmakers than just issue boots if your feet are weird like mine, easier to scrub down and smarten up again when you've got half of SENTA all over them. But I'm sure, as GS says, DCIPT are working on that sort of thing.

All points you make on leather are accurate - is there a need to change for something that may not be as good? We have an excellent choice with Desert Boots now, and we are starting to get there with temperate boots. I'm not convinced changing to a universal tan boot isn't an unessecary compromise.

Ha, ha, ha. Deploying in 3 weeks with a front-line infantry unit. We've not had a sniff of this gear yet. Seriously mate, unless this is a Wah, I reckon you'll get it really really soon. Or not.
