I usually do 1.5mile run once a week just to keep track of my time, i didnt seem to be running at a slower pace, seemed as normal as ever. About a month ago it was saying i ran it in 10.20........... Which ive never been able to do, must be dodgy.

i wouldnt trust them, i also have used one after mapping my run and it only said i had run 1.1miles, better to use map my run and get a watch and time yourself with that.

Speaking to a few people and they told me do not run under any circumstance with something like this, cause if i mess up my tendon ill be out the game for a long time, so any advice?
Also 007m88 at my pre-selection course I used to get crap run times as I wasnt used to doing sit-ups/press-ups/heaves before a run. Once I got used to it by doing the press-ups and sit-ups before my BE 1.5 m in training. I should point out that at my selection we had some scoff in the morning, let it settle then off for the run. We did more than an 800m warm-up as we ran a whole lap to make sure we knew the route. Only thing that my hinder you is the gym session before, but as someone had locked the gym and we were good boys, the PTI didnt beast us that hard. Good luck mate and keep training!

Yeah Mate, you have hit the nail on the head there. We done alot of phys work before the actual run which in the end affected my run time.
I think the main things which stopped me from getting my normal run time was unknown territory(hard to judge pace if you arn't familiar with the route), a hard warm up 1.5 miles (steady run),best effort upper body circuits 15 mins before and also a slight wind to run against.
I'm going to include all this into my training programme from now on. 1.5 mile warm up, sits, press's and pulls best effort and it should get me in a position to get alot lower on my next BFT. All in all I'm glad I did the Insight as it has shown me what is expected from you.
I've got a 6 weeks training programme to follow now from the Paras. Which the Pti reckons if I do that and come back(on insight course) I'll definately be able to do selection and pass it well. I just fell short on all activities.
They said I'd be fine to go for any other infantry reg at my current fitness but I need to put a little bit extra in before I go para.

Beofre run and 800M warm up.
No water in between was very dehydrating
But seriously once you get up there and its
For real you'll breaze it just don't stop running
And you'll be fine.

I did the Para insight at the weekend, it was great just couldn't believe I got a shite 1.5 mile run time of 10.14. All the events before it definately took alot out of me but I just don't think I ran to the best of my ability. First of all I started off way to quick sprinted the first 800m and by that time I was breathing heavy and slowing down. Also when I finished I just wasn't fu@ked enough to have given it my best shot. I think I was trying to save energy because I was unsure how far away the finish line was. By the time I seen it, it was to late I gave it a last little sprint but I should have been sprinting about 800m before. All in all I'm gutted but it will only make me stronger on the next attempt.
I came in 9th out of a group of 23 wannabe paras the worste score was 15.50. You should have seen the faces on the Pti's, they were well pissed off with the lad. Also there was lads who smashed the sit ups and pressups but ended up getting over 12 mins on the run it was madness
