It's an "after" shot - that's ally
If it was a "before" shot - then you'd have cause to question, shurely?
I was disappointed.
I thought that (in the next shot) he'd have splashed it with lighter fuel, ignited it, and played it with his teeth.
(for the ignorant young pups reading this - that's a reference to former paratrooper Jimi Hendrix)
Let's not over exaggerate a bit of banter. But discipline in all its forms is even more important on ops than off. If we don't believe that then the whole thing starts to unravel.
Just my 2 cents.
i dont think the lads have time to mess around making sure their appearence is within the queens regs out there, do you???
Not ally. Just a bit pose-y, plus wrong ammo for his gpmg. Though I'm sure he got laid by some impressionable little girl who was wowed by his manly fb pic.

That was me then, grow man crying into his morning coffee.

Being new to the site (obvious I suppose!), and a lot of the terminology is different. I am not having a CSOHF, honest. At the time i thought the kit and the '77 pattern webbing was Gucci.
The namestapes i could do nothing about, didn't get much say in setting clothing standards.

Well done Cpl.Mather and The Rifles. The wording of the press release makes me wonder if Cpl. Mather might be up for an MC or similar, and quite rightly so.

Celebration of the Liberation of Douai, Church Service, 1994. WWII Irish Guards major starts to read out, from a list, the names of the fallen soldiers from his Regiment. After the first few, he put the list down and carrying on reciting the names - lots of them. The pain and grief and pride of the veterans as they consoled each other had an almost physical presence that washed over everyone present. He may have been in civvies, he may have been in his seventies, but that major was every inch the ally star.
