Whats your name fella? "Akmal Shaikh" Akmal? good British name....

But joking aside, and without bothering to read through all the usual drivel, this guy, a father of 3? or 5? different reports suggest either, he has mental health issues, and is travelling alone in China?

He some how comes into the possesion of a decent amount of top drugs, and is caught, in a country that executes drug smugglers?

And people are concerned?

Am I missing something?

Feck him, and sack his carer, for not keeping an eye on what he was doing.

I don't believe that it has been medically verified that he is bi polar or has any mental health problems. Does anyone know differently?

Since when has something like verifiable fact ever got in the way of Facebook outrage groups? It was a Chinese Court therefore they must be barbaric and wrong because we have the only truly infallible justice system in the world which is why we hung Derek Bentley a man with the IQ of a 9 year old who wasn't even the one who committed the murder he was hung for.

To reiterate, his diagnosis was made by telepathy by a group of non psychiatrically qualified Facebook members sat in various parts of the UK but none in China. It has to be right because 7,000 knobs have joined the Facebook page that says so.

BiPolar/Split Personality - does that mean he should have had twice the common-sense not to do it?

China buys a lot of Rolls Royce aero engines from Britain.

Cyclops getting into a slanging match with Beijing over the execution of a worthless immigrant who it seems not only was into major leauge drug smuggling, but supporting Islamic terrorism as well could cause the Chinese government to instruct it's state controlled airlines to halt such purchases, thus resulting in job losses in Brtain.

The Americans would only be too glad to provide alternative aero engines.

It seems the livlelyhood of the honest working joe comes way down the list of proirities to Cyclops and his left wing cronies.

Memo to Cyclops and others in Labour:do NOT put the jobs of working people on the line in an effort to bend over backwards to pander to the criminally minded immigrant community, even if they might vote Labour.

Makes one wonder if the proceeds from 4kgs of heroin were for 'funds' for the boys.

And I just thought that Brown and Millipede just made twunts of themselves by supporting a drug dealer. Oh no, they had to go the whole hog and support someone who was so quintessentially British he wants jihad against us.

The Chinese arent stupid. If this vermin went wibble for real, he would have been put in a mental institution until he died.

I'm disgusted with Brown as he could have just STFU and let the execution happen, but no, he has just sent a message to every drug smuggler and terrorist that the UK Government will do everything in its power to help said terrorist\assorted scum of the earth. If Brown had a pair he would have said something like " We dont want this filth back. Do with him what you will"

Its a pity the Chinese didnt offer a swap. Its arguable that Brown has wrought more damage on this country than a terrorist or drug smuggler so we could have sent Brown over to get topped.

My understanding is that he was living rough on the streets of Poland when he was told he could be pop star in China, and was sent on his merry way with the goods. When caught he then defended himself refusing a lawyer at any stage of either his trial or appeal.

Does suggest a slight degree of less than clear thinking.

Am in no way defending the man, he was carrying drugs into a country with the death sentance. China executed over 1700 folk in 2008. (over 70% of the executions in the world) They would appear to be fairly liberal with what it can be awarded for.

Akmal Shaikh is dead, he deserved it. Shame we don't have the spine to hang any fooker caught smuggling heroin into the UK.
He deserved to face justice for smuggling 4kg of heroin.
The Chinese courts tried, convicted and sentenced to him. Tough shite. He's no loss to us.

Its bit of a shame Gordon has to embarass us on the international stage by pleading for a muppet who got his just deserts but I suppose Gordon behaving like a w@nker is nothing new.

No sympathy here, either, good riddance. Our justice system could learn some lessons from the Chinese.

Some more from the Chinese side.

Quote:
According to the court, the British embassy in China and a British organization had proposed a psychiatric examination on Shaikh, but the documents they provided could not prove he had mental disorder nor did members of his family have history of mental illness.

Shaikh himself had not provided materials regarding a mental illness. His legal rights and legitimate treatment had been fully granted in custody and trial, the statement said.

So none of the people or organisations with the greatest interest in doing so could provide any evidence of mental incapability or any reason to suspect there might be one.
