I like not washing my feet for a month at a time and then spend an evening picking all the black bits out from between my toes.

my best mate likes to sit and watch.
That is not a hobby that is called being a grotty basterdo, but saying that i as many other ex sevice men suffer with is hard skinned feet, mainly on the ball and heel, i like to take an old fashion razor blade and shave as much off as i can much like peeling an orange

Just watch that annoying fecking advert about the 'ped egg' it can shave the skin off your feet so you can even collect all the dead skin for your hobby if you wish!!! But not only that it is so safe you can't even cut a balloon, so you cant even slit your wrists with it...!! Razz

Ok not strictly a hobby, but you have to wonder at who started this collection and how the hell they thought it was a good idea.

did a days work for a friend who is a gardener which involved assistance whilst he cut down trees with his chainsaw. He bought the chainsaw 2nd hand from someone who collects them; buys them 2nd hand, does them up etc like some people do cars, motorbikes. I laughed when he told me this and he told me this isn't anything unusual: he'd seen a programme showing someone who collected lawnmowers...

I've been doing a very silly sport for 13 years now:

At weekends I like to climb up big hills and sit on the top of them. I carry a big heavy awkward bag filled with various bits of kit that I don't use.

Sometimes I sit and hope the wind blows towards me. Sometimes I hope that it won't blow so hard and sometimes I sit there and hope it will actually blow at all. The big bag is useful for leaning against when I'm waiting for the wind.

There are many people in the UK that meet on the top of hills to pursue this sport. We all sit around and talk about the weather together and then we all climb down the hill and go home.

The Pennines do boast some excellent wind waiting sites I admit.

I once did a spoof hobby to wind up a geek at work (BR) Collecting Railway Telegraph Insulators, joke was a bit difficult as most pole routes were gone but the lads found a few down the bank and I found a book on the subject in the library. I mounted them on the lockers in the depot. Oddly enough I was promoted out to another depot shortly afterwards!

Probably the strangest hobby is surfing the NAAFI Bar at ARRSE.co.uk

Even more bizarre is that some people enjoy it.

Now that's just too sick, you pervert.

I must admit, trawling thro the Lady Thread and viewing the mighty Meridian's fine collection has become a bit of a compulsary occupation. On top of that, the hobby seems to have developed into spotting which women he has posted on previously. At least that's how it begins, after a few mins I just get blinded by the t i t s.

Now whether this is strange or bizarre, I've no idea, but I collect moles. I mean models of the furry, burrowy animals, not the unsightly brown splotches on folks' bodies. I don't know if anybody's noticed, but you can get models of just about any animal, insect or bird, however, models of moles are very thin on the ground. I can't understand why.

In the 30 years I've been collecting moles, I've only managed to gather 41, and three of those I made myself. So my heartfelt plea to manufacturers of model animals etc is: can we have some more moles, please?

I'm surprised that MDN hasn't posted some of his bizarre habits.
Although it would probably take him several hours to type the list.

Some of the weirdest hobbies I've heard of are:

Campanology - I assume the people who do this aren't allowed in the village pub
Train/bird spotting - just get a book on the subject and stay home
Stamp collecting - has anyone ever got the full set?
Angling - why bother spending all that money to catch a fish and then throw it back?

LancePrivateJones:
I saw this on the telly once but don't ask me to provide a link.

Some bloke (probably from the Midlands) decides that aerials are really interesting.

He takes photo's of them all the time, TV aerials, car aerials, any aerial.

He then got pulled in by MI5 because he'd been taking pictures of 'funny' aerials and apparently MI5 are very grateful to him because he has pictures of aerials that they did'nt even know existed.

Still doing it now apparently.

I bet he's interesting to talk to.

He's OK, if you're on his wavelength.

Went to an Aerial Wedding recently.... The Church service was rubbish but the reception was fantastic!

.....Thanks for that one Tommy! (Edited once for spulling an easy word dead dead funnily)

For quite awhile I was a Handshake Collector. This may help you to understand, an old article from The Independent
www.independent.co.uk/...29125.html
also here as well : www.courierpress.com/n...e/?print=1

I got the Late Emperor Hirohito of Japan in 3, plus numerous others in 4 or 5

An easy & harmless hobby I commend to all
