Carry on violating the rights that he thinks he has lost until his victim is able to vote for herself, should be right by my standards. He was imprisoned for life with a minimum tariff of 20 years and has gone 12 years past that, so it would appear that he has not fulfilled the criteria for release so has not earned the privilage of a vote.

The fact that he's still serving a sentence 12 years after the recommended tariff says a lot about him - he's not human... and therefore not entitled to vote!

I agree, why give the 40 odd thousand banged up who we can expect to return to society within the life of the next parliament a sense that they are part of it?

Why not go further, the old duffers in nursing homes might not last the full term so what do they need a vote for? You used to need to own property to vote - why not restrict it to those with 2 houses or at least a house with a moat or duck island? - That'd be more effective at disenfranchising more council estate scuffers than those banged up for spreading their dole a bit further by fiddling their overpriced pay as you go leccy meter. Why bother about the odd rabid lifer, their one vote won't have much influence - it's the rabid nutters on the outside who allow themselves to be brainwashed by the Murdoch press that worry me.
