Assuming that you're close to the source of this new info, have you any idea if applications can be submitted for this new qualifying period yet?
The bar will come sooner than you think - qualifying period for ACSM is dropping from 3 to 2 years so if you have 5+ years you will get your bar without even having to leave the NAAFI
Load of crap.

Really?
I'm sort of glad about this. I'm not sure of how many days I've got, but after an 8 month tour and a 2 year residential of NI, and 6 months in Iraq, I know I'm close to qualifying. To decrease the amount of days needed to be awarded this medal would decrease its significance IMO. Not only that, they won't be as rare in 5-10 years from now.
Agreed and very much agreed (spot the bloke who’s done a few ‘non queens head’ tours
)
Maybe with the exception of the 'Ice Cream' tour of Cyprus!!
Schoey was in the Traf last night. Bit busy to say the least!
He is mate, out with his bonkers wife.
It's like a sodding donkey on acid!!
Pedant hat on. Slight correction, Saif Sareea 2 lasted September to November 2001. Pedant hat off.
P-T
I thought it lasted at least 6 months which is why 6 Supply Regt got a free week in the Hilton (because they did 6 months) and 2 CS got a subsidised weekend there (because we only did 2 months).

Didn't think TELIC counted towards the ACSM?
Is that only if you qualified for the the Telic medal? (Iraq only) I know on the first Telic people got them for being based in Kuwait, but that was eventully stopped.
Look some of the stuff in here is really quite nasty. If you are easily offended - DO NOT ENTER.

The review for ACSM qualifying criteria is still ongoing. No decision has been made whatsoever.

I also hope the qualifying period stays the same. I think NATO and UN tours should count towards it though.

Grafter Schoey! I take it he's still living in Farnham then? He's a good bloke he is. Saved me from being locked up last year!
