I don't mind admitting I was crap at labouring, only job I could get at 18 though. After inhaling too much dust through flimsy cotton masks (HSE didnt really do much for us back then) I got out and began studying.

I'm pleased you got your degree, and satisfied that your qualification has served you well. But obviously not as self satisfied as you are about it. I would question whether the army would have suited you as a career, you being sooooo much more intelligent than all those who were in it? Look you're obviously appalled by your inadequacy and inability to get into the forces. Well don't be, it's not for everyone and it's not your fault. Some can do it and some can't. You are obviously one that can't and it's not a sin is it? Content yourself with the knowledge that you gave it a try, and were found to be buckshee by some clueless major, who has no doubt regretted this gross mistake for all these years...If you keep telling yourself this you'll be able to come to terms with it soon i'm sure, and move on with the tragedy that apparently is your life.

I wonder if the Major's still alive? Can anyone who's connected find out who was in charge in 1990 at Dunfermline (the depot opposite the industrial estate at the bottom of the town) I'll send the fcuker a shite in the post
I suppose its true Tom, when I'm playing Call Of Duty or Flashpoint I wish that was me there, shooting Russkies and dodging lead, and drinking tankards full of piss
