Booked an appointment with the Doc later today, so I can personally hand him the Med forms and hopefully he'll fill them out and hand me them back. Rolling Eyes

Thats what I did, a lot quicker.

Should I try that? I phoned up and asked but the receptionist was being a bit of a cow and said I couldn't, and that I should just bring them in and give them to her so she can put it in his pegion hole.. I wonder if there would be anything wrong with me just booking an appointment, and taking my med forms with me, by-passing the receptionist's knowledge of the med forms, then when I get in the docs office just be like "i have some forms here..." dunno what you think?

I rang up and said i would like to book an appointment for an army medical, don't take no for an answer that's what i did it on a Tuesday and by thursday my AFCO had the forms and where sent off that day.

Il be taking the surfer_smithy method i think hehe. Plus my GP practice receptionists are quite nice lasses so should be k. Found these games links useful for killing my boredom during long hours of waiting around......

Thanks for all the quick responces guys, I booked an appointment for 9:30am tomorrow morning, I will take my med forms in with me and ask him to fill them in. As far as im aware there is very little to put on my forms so it shouldn't take him long. If he is in a bit of a bad mood and says something like "is this all you booked an appointment for..." I can very easily just open the back flaps and say "no no, I just had a bit of muscle pain in my back and wanted to get it checked, but since your here...." anyway, thanks lads.

I hope you said it was for an army medical because they might send you away and re-book your appointment because they need to prep your medical records for the appointment. (Happened to me the first time)

Also if the fcker moans about it then tell him he's getting paid to do it the greedy 4 day week £130,000 pa cnut

Got back from the Doc's about an hour ago. Couldn't have went any smoother. As I mention, I didn't say anything about the appointment being for my Army Medical forms. Ive only just joined the practice too. Went in, and simply said I'm here for a check-up and that im going into the Army so I need my Army Medical papers filling in and stamped. He was a slight bit puzzled as the practice didn't yet have my Med History, but I pointed out the kinda last page, where it says Med History checked or Interviewed patient.

He took 2 minutes at most ticking all the No's, then handed me them back Very Happy He even filled out his claim form and gave me it to post for him the cheeky Doc haha!

I said it went smooth, but its not been in the hands of ADSC yet and fully cleared, so time will tell, but so far so good. I'll be hand delivering it to my AFCO Wednesday now probably, just to make sure everything's sound for sending up to ADSC. Smile

Congrats Fella. Fingers crossed it doesn't bounce back from ADSC. See i'd recently moved when i applied for the army.. so there was a bit of waiting time on my med history to be sent down.
Not to worry though things were squared away pretty sharpish. But some GP's are a little funny over filling them in whilst your present ... not too sure why, but hey whichever gets the job done.....

Thats pretty good lol. Just seen fivetodo get his ass chewed by some guy in the RA Recruitment thread. Was bit OTT considering fivetodo is a recruiter and has advised a hell of a lot of us here very very well recently. Certainly put my worries at ease last week over some stuff. Seems its abuse the guru day

I rang up my ACIO today to see if there was any progress on my medical forms whilst I was away. Turned out they had requested further information from my GP just over a week ago... and he hasn't done anything yet!

A phone call to the surgery told me to ring back tomorrow morning - so I can talk to the secretary. Whatever happened to popping a post it note on someones desk?!

No worries it should be sorted tomorrow. Any idea what they are requesting extra info over?

Yeah, Hopefully!

I know when I applied last year they wanted information on counseling I had for a family incident, happened a good 5 years ago now! Its the only real smudge on my history, so I assume its this!

I don't want to sound too negative on my application process, but.. Rolling Eyes my Med Form 'smoothness', to me sounds ripe for 'more info!' Evil or Very Mad but at the same time it does give the Doc an option as I mentioned for Med History checked or Interviewed patient, would seem daft for them to have that 2nd option to only just request more info, if that makes any sense.

Perhaps im just worrying for nothing and instead should be asleep at this time in the morning seeing as ive a soul destroying 12 hour shift in phone monkey'ville in a bit. Crying or Very sad But id rather mentally prepare myself for the worst, that way it won't demotivate me when there is 'unforeseen delays' in the app.

Anywho.. all the best for tomorrows (or infact now..todays) appointment Liam mate and cheers for the support peoples Very Happy

Yeah, I remember my brother having a similar incident when he was joining the plod!

I booked an appointment to have my forms filled in, as I didn't trust him - also as my Recruiting Sgt said it was best. He had the cheek to ask me in there "Why did you require an appointment? I could've done this alone", I guess he forgets that he left my brothers forms collect dust for a number of weeks!

Saying that, I should've probably worried when he queried whether I had seen a military doctor before. Then he went on to ask "May I tick 'No' in these boxes?" - I had to explain, "No, you only answer those questions if you have seen a military doctor in the past..". Didn't really instill much confidence in me..

Then when another family member went to him about pains in her legs, he replied "I'm not sure about the cause, but I get something that sounds exactly the same!".

Is it obvious that I want a new doctor? Razz

obviously a sh!t doctor!!! i dont think it can be stressed enough that the hang-ups in the med process are generally the civi docs, i was phoning my AFCO everyday and it wasnt even the army's fault!

And yes smiler i will hold a grudge against civi docs forever more!! Very Happy :D Very Happy

Im traumatised i tell you!!!!!

Mary isn't in - so I spoke to her cover. All she had to do was look on her computer..

At first she tried telling me that the forms had been sent off the second of June, then I had to explain that they had sent back a request for more information. She seemed a bit confused and said it hasn't been logged with them yet... she'll have to ask my doctor and then give me a ring at some point. *sigh* Why can I see this getting rather messy?!
