Yeh, just turned it down. Rather stick out the wait if it's to do my 1st choice...

Would of been going next month instead of April at least
well i was thinking about joining up as a supplyer because my recruiter said i could join up straight away with that trade but i didnt listen to him i hope it was the right decision

Hi guys! My first post here but I've been lurking for a while.

I took my first step into the Career Office on Monday, had a quick chat and let them know that Officer would be my first choice. Returned on Tuesday with my completed Interest Form. They said the Selection Officer will be in touch for an interview, he's very busy but if he's not in touch in 2 weeks then I've to go back down.

It's very scary and exciting thinking about it. It's very early days and I'm not 100% sure but I like the sound of it. Had a chat with my dad, he was in REME I think and he sounds happy about my interest. Even the bird likes the sound of it, even though it'll mean she'll need to move back to her mum's and I'll only see her on weekends once training is done.

Anyway, I'll probably keep posting as this moves further along. Good luck to everybody else who is looking into joining/applied/got selection coming up!

To be honest, i really didn't do very well on push/sit ups. I personally think it's more about the 1.5 best effort, the steeplchase and how you conduct yourself over the course

So I'm still stuck getting my medical stuff sorted out. I gave the completed questionnaire to my doctor on August 7th, got it back September 2nd and sent it off on the 3rd. End of the month I got a letter requesting more info about a couple of things and luckily I already had my entire medical history printed off from my doctor beforehand (but Sgt decided not to bother sending it with!). My doctor signed off the extra notes and sent it off over a week ago and hopefully I'll get the all clear by the end of the month!

You guys weren't kidding when I read that this phase of the process is the most annoying, frustrating and boring part of it all! I've already had to push back two pre-selection invites because it's taking so long! There's only so much time I can make myself believe it's all fine because it gives me extra time to train. I just want to get stuck in already! XD

i think the 1.5 mile is one of my stronger areas so hopefully it shoudlnt be too much of a problem gettin through, so if all goes well ill be seein you on the 1st as well

i went on prac as para was one of my choices, and i thought my 1.5 was my best area, i was running it around 8.30 before i went, but my route was all flat pretty much and if i ran for 3.5 miles before then my 1.5 after, i was getting it in 9.15, which is ok. but any way point is seriously do speed work (like sprints or fartlec) and loads of work on hills, dont stop until you feel like your lungs are going to explode and your legs are going to drop off, then go some more. you'll need the training, as the route is quite hilly and depending on how pissed off the prac sergeant is you might end up running the 3.5 squadded faster than you are used to completely F*KING you before the 1.5. no one likes coming in last and i gues you really want to pass this so up your training LOADS, its too easy to underestimate the course when you get the details (like i did)
