Very happy with my GP, I gave him the forms yesterday and was hoping he would fill them in then, but he told me to leave them with him. I came away a little put down, thinking about the possibility of weeks of waiting. Then he called me a 9am this morning and told me they were ready for collection! Good stuff, im in work later... so I will have to run these down to the AFCO first thing in the morning. Then it's just a matter of ADSC clearing them (fingers crossed). I have pre-selection a week on friday but I think im going to have to cancel for a later one because i've still got a bit of sore leg and haven't been able to train in running. Hope they don't mind too much.

Result then Liam mate!! Very Happy

Popped into my AFCO earlier to double check the Med Forms were filled in correctly and all sound to be sent up to Pirbright. Everything was fine and he said he'd send them up. Asked about why ADSC ask for more info, as like I mentioned I was a tad worried about them asking for more info based on my Med Forms being filled in without my Med History, but apparently its only really when they want more info on something you've answered yes to. Everything was 'No' on mine, except 'one tooth taken out over 5 years ago', but that was it, so that put my mind at rest a bit.

Also asked how long roughly it would take for them to come back all clear so I can get cracking with the Interview stage. He said if I haven't heard anything in 4 weeks, give them a call, but I WILL be phoning them every week from today for an update on it though Wink

Would like everything in place and all done including a pass over in Pirbright ADSC, but as I said I won't be able to get on an intake till earliest late February next year, but have some excellent news on the monotonous phone monkey'ville job front though. I tend to find when im not at work im more active in my training routine and no beer no junk food thing ive got going on. So after a good bit of saving (thanks to giving up going out for a few drinks every week) ive got enough doshlings for my current spend including everything else, for the next 8 months Very Happy and a prospect of laboring throughout the summer with a friend of the family for more than im actually earning now. And as im leaving on good terms with my current phone monkey job, they've said im welcome back anytime, so its a safety net should something go tits up with my entry. A safety I really don't want to fall into, but a safety net never the less. So enough money, the prospect of earning more than I earn as in fill before Phase 1 and more time to be active in my Training and Eating Routine...!! Good times!! Laughing

Right - Just spoke to my doctor on the phone, nice of him to ring me at 7! That made me quite happy actually.

He did however, say that they got the forms back as "well, When we were talking about stuff you see... I happened too.. Well... I don't know how it happened - but I didn't tick some of the boxes on the form." - Essentially he missed them!

He claims he sent the forms back on the 22nd of May though, and I know the Senior Medical Officer has since overseen my forms. So now I'm questioning whether paperwork has got lost in the post - or if perhaps he meant the 22nd of June, and sent the paperwork back Monday?

I'll fill the ACIO in tomorrow, see if they've received any news... Sad

i first applied december 2006, got defered for my hearing/ears, had a operation in my left ear, spent 6 months out of work, applied again in october 2007 once my doctor said it was ok to apply, i got defered once again, i then had a 2nd operation on my right ear this time in april 2008, another 6 months out of work, i then had to have another small operation, which was only 2-3 weeks out of work, i then joined again in january 2009, Finally got in after about 3 years, when to selection on april the 28th, passed on the 29th and im off to basic on the 4th of october.

long ride, but all worth it in the end.
